Different types of Sports Betting Bets

Common Types of Bets:

Straight or Single Bet - Betting on a winner at the given odds

Point Spread - There are two teams, one will be declared as the favourite team with a + sign, and the other will be the underdog with a - sign. The Point Spread will say what the favourit (+) team has to win by, and what the Underdog (-) has to loose by. You will bet on one of those teams. If the Team wins or looses by the exact amount of the Point Spread then it will be a push or a tie, in this case your bet will be refunded. Sometimes the oddsmakers will add a 1/2 point in order to rule out the tie or push result.

Buy Points - also known as buy Key Points. This gives you the ability to move the point spread favourably at a price.

The Moneyline - this is inveresly proportional to the odds of the point spread. The underdog is labelled with the + sign and the favourite is labelled with the - sign.

Total - this is a bet on the total sum of the points scored in the entire game (including overtime), by both of the teams.

Over/Under - betting to say that the total sum of points scored will be over or under the total number of points scored by both of the teams in the game set by the oddsmaker.

Parlay - also known as Accumulator. a single bet linking individual wagers (of two or more) together and depends on all of the wagers winning together. This type of Sports Betting is popular because the odds tend to be better

Round Robin - A series of parlays. You can have your 3 team parlay bet, followed by 3 bets on 2 team parlays. For example, if you have team X,Y, and Z, it would be a three team parlay of XYZ, then your 3 bets on 2 team parlays of XY, XZ and YZ

Teaser - Also Similar to the parlay, the only difference is that the point spread is adjusted to give you the advantage. So you gain some points (won't need as many points to win), and in return you get less money on returns.
